"I must say that I am a little disappointed that President Zelensky hasn't read the proposal yet," Trump commented. He specified that this information corresponds to a few hours ago, and pointed out that the Ukrainian people "love" the peace plan and that "Russia thinks it's fine". "Russia is fine with it. However, I'm not sure Zelensky is fine with it," he expressed. "His people love it. But he [Zelensky] hasn't read it. So you'll explain it to me someday, Jeff," he replied to a journalist.- As part of peace efforts, senior U.S. representatives met on November 30 with a Ukrainian delegation in Florida and after on Tuesday in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
- The initial U.S. peace proposal, which became known last month, was partially modified during consultations held with the Ukrainian side on November 23 in the Swiss city of Geneva and later in Florida.
- For his part, the Russian leader described as useful the conversations with Washington, specifying that, among the issues discussed during the meeting, U.S. proposals on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict were addressed, with which Moscow did not agree.
- Moscow's proposal contemplates that Kiev completely withdraw its troops from the people's republics of Donetsk and Lugansk and from the provinces of Zaporozhye and Kherson (incorporated into Russia after popular consultations in 2022) and recognize these territories, as well as Crimea and Sevastopol, as subjects of the Russian Federation. In addition, neutrality, non-alignment, as well as the denuclearization, demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine must be guaranteed.
