Mayra Jiménez was Minister of Women from August 2020 until this 2026. She holds a law degree magna cum laude from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), obtained a specialization in Leadership for Public Management from Barna Management School and a master's degree in Economic Regulation Law from PUCMM.
With over 25 years of experience in social dialogue, consensus building, and the promotion of human and labor rights for women and the working class. She has led key initiatives to promote gender equality, eliminate violence and discrimination against women, and consolidate women's human rights in the country.
In her career, she has been a titular representative on the Economic and Social Council from 2005 to 2020, participating in dialogue processes to develop public policies, such as the National Development Strategy and the National Pact for Educational Reform. In addition, she was president of the Inter-American Commission of Women (CIM/OAS) between 2020 and 2022 and of the Ibero-American Initiative to Prevent and Eliminate Violence against Women.

She has also been pro-tempore president of the Council of Ministers for Women of Central America and the Dominican Republic (Commca) and is currently vice-president of the Regional Conference on Women of ECLAC, since November 2022.
