The mastermind behind Kim Kardashian robbery sentenced to three years in prison

Paris.- The mastermind of the jewelry robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris in 2016 was sentenced this Friday to eight years in prison, three of them in firm, although he will not return to prison, just like none of the other defendants.

The verdict of the Paris court decided on sentences lower than those requested by the prosecution on Wednesday, from 6 to 10 years for eight of the accused, and acquitted two of the accused, to whom it granted a role as informants.

Aomar Aït Khedache, considered the main architect of the operation and who confessed to the facts, was sentenced to eight years, of which three were effective, but his sentence is added to a previous one.

This means that this 69-year-old man, with a long criminal record but seriously ill (he is deaf and almost mute), will not return to prison, as requested by his lawyer.

Yunice Abbas, 71 years old, author of a book titled 'I Kidnapped Kim Kardashian', was sentenced to seven years in prison, five exempt from serving, but he will not go behind bars either.

Regarding the other two defendants who directly participated in the robbery, Didier Dubreucq and Marc-Alexandre Boyer, the court sentenced them to seven years, with five suspended, and they will also not have to go to prison.

These four defendants were the ones who had received the 10-year request from the Prosecution.

Harminy Aït Khedache, son of the mastermind of the operation, accused of having been the driver of the commando that carried out the robbery, was sentenced to five years in prison, four of which were exempt from serving.

The court sentenced Christiane Glotin, Khedache's former partner, accused of complicity and for whom the prosecution sought six years in prison, to four years in prison, exempt from serving, and François Delaporte and Marc Boyer to three years, also without serving.

Finally, the court acquitted Florus Heroui and Gary Madar, the latter brother of Kim Kardashian's chauffeur, the two men whom the prosecution considered to have provided the information about the victim's movements.

The robbery, committed in October 2016 in the suite of a small luxury hotel in Paris, yielded jewels worth 10 million dollars and caused a sensation worldwide due to the fame of the victim, a reality TV and social media star.
