All-Star Game between Puerto Rico and RD will be played in New York

New York. – The All-Star Game between the Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic leagues will be held for the first time at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, on November 15, 2025. The announcement was confirmed by Yamil Benítez, president of the Puerto Rico Players Association, who highlighted the importance of the event for the Puerto Rican and Dominican communities residing in the United States.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to bring this rivalry to the Mets' stadium. We are going to present a first-class show for the delight of the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans who live in New York,” said Benítez.

Citi Field will be the stage where this historic confrontation between the most outstanding figures of the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC) and the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM) will be revived, in a day that promises to overflow with Caribbean passion and pride. Benítez also revealed that the proposal was presented directly to the Mets, who agreed to be official promoters of the game. In addition, it was announced that the event will be dedicated to the star Dominican second baseman Robinson Canó, in recognition of his career in Major League Baseball and his legacy in the region. For her part, Alexandra Cohen, wife of the Mets owner and of Puerto Rican origin, assured that the organization is committed to highlighting Latin culture.

“We are very excited to host this celebration of Caribbean baseball at Citi Field. The energy will be amazing. Queens will vibrate to celebrate Latino pride,” Cohen said in a statement.

Tickets for the anticipated game will be available starting this Thursday, July 24 on the official website mets.com/dr-pr.
