Senate reintroduces organic bill that modifies Labor Code for study

Santo Domingo. – The Senate of the Republic reintroduced this Tuesday the organic bill that modifies the Labor Code with the aim of giving continuity to the analysis process and concluding the study of the legislative piece. The initiative was sent back to the special commission chaired by the senator from La Altagracia, Rafael Barón Duluc Rijo, which advanced in the article-by-article examination for several months. In that sense, Duluc Rijo was positive that the piece will be sent "quickly to the plenary", so that it then goes to the Chamber of Deputies so that this has time to approve it.

He also reiterated that severance pay, one of the most debated points, is not touched, highlighting that it is the final decision of the congressmen.

It is recalled that Ricardo de los Santos, president of the Senate, highlighted that the Labor Code is one of the priorities he has in this new legislature. With the reintroduction, the aim is to resume the articles that were pending review and complete a final report that will be submitted to the plenary for a vote.
