Puerto Plata will host the 2025 Latin Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Puerto Plata. The city of Puerto Plata is preparing to host the Exaltation Ceremony of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame 2025, an event of great cultural, sporting, and tourist significance that will bring together legends of Latin American baseball and will have the support of the main local and national authorities.

The senator of the province, along with institutions such as the Tourist Cluster, the Hotel Association and the Chamber of Commerce, will be part of the organizing committee, guaranteeing a high-impact meeting that will project the Bride of the Atlantic as a sports and tourist destination of international relevance.

The head table at the launch event included: Robinson Paredes, general director of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame; Yerik Pérez, president of ADOTURD; Arturo Heinsen, representing the Puerto Plata Organizing Committee; the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz; as well as Fran Camilo and Héctor Gómez, members of the International Committee for the Exaltation of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame.

  • Friday, December 5th: Arrival of the exalted.
  • Saturday, December 6th, 11:00 a.m.: Peña de Inmortales.
  • Saturday, December 6th, 8:00 p.m.: Benefit dinner in favor of a foundation (to be announced soon).
  • Sunday, December 7th, 10:00 a.m.: Game of Immortals.
  • Sunday, December 7th, 6:00 p.m.: Grand Exaltation Ceremony of the Class of 2025.

Inductees of the 12th Class of the Latin Baseball Hall of Fame

  • Bartolo “Big Sexy” Colón (Dominican Republic): 2005 Cy Young winner, four-time All-Star, and historical leader in wins among Latino pitchers in MLB with 247. Pride of Puerto Plata.
  • Miguel “La Guagua” Tejada (Dominican Republic): 2002 American League MVP, World Series champion, and owner of more than 2,400 hits and 307 home runs in his career.
  • Julio Franco (Dominican Republic): One of the longest-lived players in history, active until age 49. He won a batting title in 1991 and added more than 2,500 hits in MLB.
  • Adrián “El Titán” González (Mexico): Historical figure of Mexican baseball with more than 300 home runs and 2,000 hits, five-time All-Star and international ambassador of the sport.
  • Francisco “Kid” Rodríguez (Venezuela): Owner of the record of 62 saves in a season (2008) and sixth on the MLB historical list with 437 saves.
The Latin Baseball Hall of Fame highlighted that this exaltation not only celebrates the greatness of the players, but also strengthens the positioning of Puerto Plata as a world-class tourist destination, combining sport, culture and hospitality.
