SANTO DOMINGO, RD. – The Empresa de Generación Eléctrica Punta Catalina (EGEPC) announced this Sunday the reincorporation of Unit 2 of its plant to the National Interconnected Electrical System (SENI), after five days of intense technical maintenance work.
According to the entity, the technical staff worked uninterruptedly, 24 hours a day, from Tuesday, August 12th to this Sunday, the 17th, with the aim of re-establishing the unit in the shortest possible time. The work involved the participation of 50 collaborators, with the support of the boiler manufacturer, Babcock & Wilcox (B&W).

EGEPC highlighted the effort and commitment of its technical team, noting that 100% of the permanent employees at the plant are Dominicans, which reflects the high level of preparation of national human talent. Likewise, it thanked the visit of President Luis Abinader, who congratulated the technicians and recognized their professionalism and dedication during the process. With the re-entry of Unit 2, Punta Catalina strengthens the energy supply to the SENI, contributing to the stability of the national electricity system and guaranteeing a more reliable service for users.
