Punta Cana.– The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, officially opened this Thursday the twenty-fifth edition of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE 2025), speaking of the growth and consolidation of the country as a tourism leader in the Caribbean.
“We are in the best moment for tourism in the Dominican Republic. Without a doubt. We are creating a history, a history that is being written with the sweat of all Dominicans,” said Collado to businessmen, hoteliers, authorities, and representatives of the sector gathered in Punta Cana.
According to him, this edition of DATE not only celebrates the progress made, but also consolidates the country's positioning as a regional reference in tourism.
Collado also called for maintaining a positive outlook amid global challenges. “In a world where there is so much negative news, so much fake news, I believe in the men and women who get up every day to do good. Dreams are like the seas, which must be navigated in depth to know them,” he said.
The minister took advantage of his speech to recognize the unity of the private and financial sector, by mentioning the presence of the main banks of the country, owners of airports and pioneers of national tourism.
