COE discontinues green alert for Santiago due to decrease in rainfall

Santo Domingo. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) Directorate reported this Tuesday that, according to the meteorological bulletin issued by the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), a large part of the country will remain under clear sky conditions during the morning, with widely isolated showers on the southwest Caribbean coast, as a result of the cloudiness carried by the wind. In the afternoon, the national territory will continue under the effects of a high-pressure system, which will maintain a hot and mostly clear environment. However, the afternoon heat could cause cloud cover increases with showers and thunderstorms in towns of Pedernales, Elías Piña, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan, Santiago Rodríguez, Dajabón, Hato Mayor and El Seibo, among other locations, which will tend to dissipate at the beginning of the night.
