SANTO DOMINGO. – The Dominican Republic's Meteorology Institute (Indomet) reports that the weather forecast in Dominican Republic for this Monday, June 30th, indicates a significant reduction in rainfall, although isolated showers with thunderstorms are expected in some provinces in the interior of the country. This improvement is due to the distancing of the trough and the tropical wave, which will be replaced by a drier air mass loaded with Saharan dust.
The agency details that the presence of these Saharan particles will generate a grayish sky, scarce cloud cover, and hot temperatures, with highs between 32 °C and 34 °C, and lows between 21 °C and 23 °C. Although the atmosphere will become more stable, local rainfall could be recorded in the afternoon, mainly in Santiago Rodríguez, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San Juan and Elías Piña. The National Forecast Center maintains weather alerts in five provinces, due to the risk of river flooding, gullies, urban floods and possible landslides:- Santo Domingo
- San Pedro de Macorís
- Monte Plata
- Hato Mayor
- Monseñor Nouel
