Santo Domingo. — Meteorologist Damaris Mercedes, from the National Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), reported that the weather conditions in the Dominican Republic will begin to improve significantly starting tonight and throughout the weekend, after several days of atmospheric instability.
As explained, the country's meteorological environment continues to be influenced by a prevailing west wind, responsible for dragging cloudiness towards different provinces, including Santiago, San Juan, La Vega and other areas of the Cibao. However, he highlighted that the rains will tend to decrease noticeably by nightfall. You may be interested in: scattered showers
However, Mercedes warned that some provinces located on the Atlantic coast will continue to register local rainfall, mainly during the early morning hours. Among these, she mentioned Puerto Plata, Monte Cristi, Samaná, and María Trinidad Sánchez, where isolated showers could occur due to the humidity carried by the wind. Despite these isolated showers, the meteorologist predicted that the weekend will be mostly sunny with clear skies, both on the north coast and on the south coast of the country. "There will be a significant decrease in rainfall, with many hours of sunshine, especially on Sunday," he noted. Mercedes indicated that only isolated showers could be registered in the afternoon, mainly towards the mountainous areas, but they will not represent significant accumulations
