SAN FRANCISCO DE MACORÍS .– The offensive power of Kelvin Gutiérrez and the timely hits of Luis García Jr. and Leury García guided the Gigantes del Cibao to a 7-3 victory over the Águilas Cibaeñas this Friday, in the continuation of the 2025-26 autumn-winter tournament, dedicated to Juan Marichal and in dispute for the Copa Banreservas.

With the triumph, the Giants tie again with the Tigres del Licey in the standings with a record of 15-19. Despite the setback, the Eagles maintain their dominance in the Copa del Cibao, now 6-3. Gutiérrez starred in the night by connecting his 12th home run in the history of his career in LIDOM, a solo shot in the second inning against Jorge Tavarez, with two outs, which allowed him to tie Ty Wigginton and Henry Urrutia on the franchise's historical home run list. Tavarez (P, 2-1) pitched 4.2 innings of seven hits, three runs (two earned), six strikeouts and one home run against 21 batters. Steven Moya relieved him with 2.1 innings of four hits, two runs, two walks and three strikeouts. The triumph went to Alberto Pacheco (1-1), who worked impeccably in the fifth inning, retiring the three batters he faced with a strikeout.
