After his innocence was proven, Harlen Dolores “El Wiro” denounces persistent threats and police harassment.

The Public Ministry determined that there was no evidence linking the young man to any criminal act.

Santo Domingo. – Despite the fact that the young Harlen Alexander Dolores Almonte, known as “El Wiro,” was declared innocent by the Public Ministry after remaining under investigation for 48 hours, he claims that he continues to be a victim of harassment and threats by agents assigned to the investigative body DICRIM, specifically Captain Miguel Virgilio Grullón, in charge of the Buenos Aires de Herrera Police Detachment. The case began two weeks ago, when Dolores Almonte decided to voluntarily surrender to the National Police through De Último Minuto, after publications circulated on the Instagram account “Robos RD” that identified him as an alleged heavily armed criminal. Dolores Almonte went with her lawyer, Andrés Martínez, again to the facilities of this media and assured that although he was discharged and released, Captain Grullón continues to accuse him of various unsubstantiated crimes.

I fear for my life. I have no outstanding issues with the justice system. And if I have to appear again and again, I will do so”, he expressed, visibly affected.

The young man, 21 years old, claims to have followed every procedure required to clear his name; however, he denounces that, despite his cooperation, a pattern of harassment persists that affects his integrity and the tranquility of his family. He also reported that his family members went to the Internal Affairs department of the National Police in order to file a formal complaint against the officer, and despite presenting “all the corresponding evidence”, they refused to receive the complaint without offering any reason.

We went to Internal Affairs with all the evidence, and they didn't want to take the complaint. They didn't give us any reason”, assured Harlen.

They seek to clean up their image and avoid further damage
Attorney Martinez emphasized that the objective of going to the press again is to protect the image and honor of the young man, as the viral publications and unfounded accusations affected his daily life, his safety, and his job opportunities. To date, they have not obtained a reason or apology for which the social media account Robos RD accused him of being the person who was "heavily armed". Harlen reiterated that he has evidence that would demonstrate an alleged attempt to incriminate him in criminal acts recorded in his sector. Therefore, he demands that the situation be clarified and that any abuse of authority cease. The family requests that the young man's life be guaranteed protection, as he insists that he only seeks to live in peace and free from unjustified accusations.
