Cibao Association brings New York Times expert to share keys to digital audience growth

The Cibao Association held its customary annual meeting with representatives of media and opinion leaders from the country, through two activities held in Santo Domingo and Santiago, in which strategies to strengthen narratives on digital platforms were discussed.

The central axis of both meetings was the conference "Narratives that connect: how to tell impactful stories on digital platforms", given by Claudio Cabrera, Vice President of Editorial Strategy and Audiences at The Athletic of the New York Times.

In his presentation, Cabrera narrated the success story of The New York Times and The Athletic, highlighting the growth of their audiences and the role of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the positioning of digital content.

Likewise, he outlined the challenges faced by the media in a scenario where changes in the social media algorithm have impacted their reach and the world is advancing with new artificial intelligence tools. Faced with this panorama, he highlighted the need to rethink communication strategies and adapt to a constantly changing digital environment.

"The media must bet on solid digital products, capable of authentically connecting with audiences. The future of growth lies in the ability to innovate and explore new platforms... It is important that they understand what their readers want to know and the type of information that works for their audiences," Cabrera said.

Yara Hernández, VP of Communications and Sustainability at Asociación Cibao, highlighted the value of this annual meeting as a space to strengthen the relationship between the institution and the media.

In his central words, José Luis Ventura, executive president at Asociación Cibao, thanked the press for their support, especially during the corporate identity change process. "Your leadership has been key to positioning Asociación Cibao as a multi-channel, multi-segment, and multi-protocol entity, which responds with agility and closeness to the needs of our audiences."

"At Asociacion Cibao, we will continue to work together to build bridges, share inspiring stories, and move towards a more informed, inclusive, and connected society," Ventura expressed.

With this meeting, Cibao Association reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, innovation, and the strengthening of ties with the national press, recognizing the essential role of communication in building a more participatory society.
