This Sunday, an explosion has been reported at the Saint Elias church, located in the Dweiela area of Damascus (Syria), reports the local news agency SANA. It is estimated that the attack left 13 civilians dead and 53 injured, according to regional media.
A correspondent from the media reported that ambulances are transporting the injured and victims from the scene of the attack. In addition, he pointed out that internal security forces are deployed to secure the area. Meanwhile, the Al Mayadeen channel, citing local sources, reported that the explosion was caused by a suicide bomber.
