Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado invited her compatriots around the world this Thursday to participate in a global march for peace and freedom in Venezuela, scheduled for next Saturday, December 6th. The mobilization will take place just four days before the awarding of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, which was awarded to the former deputy. Machado pointed out:

"This Saturday we have a great opportunity, we are going to ratify this message in the march for peace and freedom. While the regime tries to hide this incredible achievement, that recognition that the whole world gives us Venezuelans, we are going to light a light in the main cities of the world. Each torch, each candle, each light will be a cry for the peace and freedom of Venezuela".

In her social media, the opponent highlighted that the march will take place in 80 cities in more than 20 countries, and urged Venezuelans to find out about the meeting points and to propose new concentrations if they consider it necessary. Machado added:

"We'll see each other this coming Saturday, December 6th, and that day the world will know why the Nobel is ours."

Machado emphasized that the award recognizes the democratic struggle, citizen organization, and resilience against oppression, and that this recognition calls for continued firmness in the task of achieving the freedom of Venezuela. The international demonstration The political party led by Machado, Vente Venezuela (VV), reported that the march will include the participation of cities in at least 24 countries, including 20 cities in Spain such as Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Zaragoza and Valencia. However, due to the insecurity situation in Venezuela, concentrations within the country have not yet been announced, according to the VV communications team. For its part, the Norwegian Nobel Committee confirmed that Machado will travel to Oslo to receive the prize, although the committee's leader, Jørgen Watne Frydnes, warned about the risks of the trip due to threats from the Venezuelan regime and emphasized the need to guarantee the safety of the opposition figure both during her stay in Norway and upon her return to the country.
